Visible light appears to the eyes as white but is actually made up of multiple colours of light called wavelengths
Each wavelength penetrates the skin to a different degree of success
The deeper into the skin we work, the less wavelengths can reach our implanted pigment, therefore, the more distorted and less true our colour will appear.
The epidermis sheds / completes a full skin cycle on average every 28 days.
Therefore, we must implant deeper than this for any pigment to retain.
We must break through and implant just below the basal layer of the epidermis to retain pigment and for all wavelengths of light to reach and reflect our pigment.
Similar to the sea:
– the deeper it goes, the darker it shows
