Cancellation Policy

Section 01. Booking Fee
All bookings with The Cosmetic Tattooist require a non-refundable booking fee of either 20% of the cost of treatment, £50 set fee or the total cost of treatment if upfront payment is required. This is a transferable but non-refundable booking fee regardless of Ovatu booking system terminology referring to this fee as a deposit. This booking fee may be transferred to an alternative treatment or date providing adequate notice is given as per ‘Section 02. Rescheduling’ below.

Example:
A client booking ombré eyebrows would be required to pay a booking fee of £79 which equates to 20% of the total treatment cost of £395. This booking fee is non-refundable but can be transferred to an alternative appointment date free of charge providing the client gives a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.

Section 02.Rescheduling
The Cosmetic Tattooist operates a free 48-hour rescheduling policy. Booking fees are non-refundable but can be transferred to an alternative appointment date free of charge when the required notice of 48 hours is provided. If you reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice your booking fee will be forfeited and an additional booking fee will be required to schedule a new appointment. If you reschedule late with less than 24 hours’ notice your booking fee will be forfeited, a penalty of £50 will be applied to the account (As per Section 06. Penalty Charges) and an additional booking fee will be required to schedule a new appointment.

Example:
If 48 hours’ notice is provided, the client can reschedule the appointment to an alternative date free of charge. If the client provides less than 48 hours’ notice, the original booking fee is forfeited and a new booking fee is required to secure a new appointment date. If the client provides less than 24 hours’ notice, the original booking fee is forfeited, a new booking fee is required to secure a new appointment date and a penalty of £50 will be applied to the account.

Section 03. Cancellations and No Shows
The Cosmetic Tattooist operates a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you choose to cancel your appointment with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice you will automatically forfeit your booking fee but may cancel your appointment at no additional cost. Late cancellations made without the required 48 hours of notice forfeit the booking fee and an additional penalty of £50 will be applied to the account. If you do not attend your appointment (no show) or arrive outside of the given grace period (Section 03.i Late Arrival), this will be treated as a late cancellation and charged in line with the cancellation policy.

Section 03.i Late Arrival / Missed Appointment
The Cosmetic Tattooist allows a 15-minute grace period for appointment arrivals. This is a strict 15-minute cut-off. Clients that arrive outside of this time frame have missed their appointment and will be considered ‘No Shows’ due to not showing up for the appointment at the time assigned and will therefore forfeit the booking fee and a penalty of £50 will be applied to the account (As per Section 06. Penalty Charges).

Example:
If the client cancels the appointment and gives the required 48 hours’ notice the appointment will be canceled and the client will forfeit the booking fee. If the client provides less than 48 hours’ notice of the cancellation the client will forfeit the booking fee and an additional £50 penalty will be charged to the account. If the client does not attend the appointment or arrives outside of the 15-minute grace period the client will forfeit the booking fee and a £50 penalty will be charged account.

Section 05. New Treatments / Previous work / Remaining pigment
When booking with The Cosmetic Tattooist, all clients must book a ‘New Treatment’ regardless of whether you have previous work from other technicians. You will be denied service on arrival, forfeit your booking fee and incur an additional £50 penalty charge should you book a colour boost treatment when your previous work was not completed by The Cosmetic Tattooist. ‘Colour Boosts’ are only for previous clients of The Cosmetic Tattooist once the initial treatments have been completed and the work needs topping up due to ageing / fading. Each new area that you have treated by The Cosmetic Tattooist must be completed as a ‘New Treatment’ before being allowed to book colour boosts at the reduced rate in the future. If you are booking a new treatment and have previous work from other technicians you are required to send clear photos of the remaining work via email to leah@thecosmetictattooist.com or via Instagram or Facebook message @the.cosmetictattooist to allow us to analyse whether to go ahead with the treatment or if removal/correction work is necessary. Alternatively, you can book a face-to-face consultation to allow in-person analysis. If you are a recurring client of The Cosmetic Tattooist booking a colour boost appointment, please send photos of the remaining work via the above methods so we can ensure the work is faded enough for reapplication. Failure to follow the above steps may result in you being declined service on the day of treatment which in turn would forfeit the booking fee and incur a £50 penalty charged to the account.

Example:
A client has old permanent makeup from 4 years ago and would like the brows redone. If the client booked a top-up, they would be denied service, forfeit the booking fee and incur an additional £50 penalty charged to the account due to booking a top-up for a treatment not completed by The Cosmetic Tattooist. Likewise if a recurring client of The Cosmetic Tattooist books a colour boost without sending photos and arrives to the appointment with the remaining work still too saturated (full of ink) to be reapplied the same penalties apply.

Section 06. Penalty Charges
The Cosmetic Tattooist reserves the right to apply penalty charges to a clients account under the circumstances outlined in these terms and conditions. Penalty charges are enforced to reduce loss of earnings to The Cosmetic Tattooist but do not cover the total loss incurred. Penalty charges must be paid by the client before any further appointments can be scheduled. Penalty charges are applicable in the event of:
–             Late Rescheduling: Rescheduling with less than 24 hours’ notice
–             Late Cancellation: Cancelling with less than 48 hours’ notice
–             No Show: Not attending your appointment
–             Missed Appointment: Arriving more than 15 minutes late for your appointment
–             Previous Work / Remaining Pigment: If the client arrives for an appointment having failed to provide photos of remaining work and the work is either too saturated, needs removal and/or correction, or is not yet due for a colour boost.
Please note. Penalties will not be charged when the total cost of treatment is paid upfront. However, no refunds will be provided under any of the above circumstances.

Section 07. Right to Refuse / Reschedule
The Cosmetic Tattooist holds the right to refuse treatment based upon moral/medical grounds but can not refuse treatment under any unfair/unjust circumstances. The Cosmetic Tattooist holds the right to rearrange and cancel treatments when deemed necessary to do so and cannot be held liable for any negative outcomes of this situation, including but not limited to loss of earnings, childcare, etc. The Cosmetic Tattooist does not offer refunds regardless of the reason for the request. All money paid is final and non-refundable.
